Blackbucks are small, attractive antelope with spiraled horns. They are native to India and Pakistan. Mature males are black dorsally with white-eye rings, chest, belly, and inner legs. Females and young males are tan. Adult males weigh 65 to 80 lbs and have 17+ inch horns. Blackbuck antelope are considered an “exotic” in Texas and there’s no closed season on hunting exotics in Texas. Since blackbucks are up on their feet and moving throughout the entire day, there will be multiple opportunities to harvest a trophy blackbuck.
